Random House, Inc. is a large English-language general trade book publisher. It has been owned since 1998 by the German private media corporation Bertelsmann and has become the umbrella brand for Bertelsmann book publishing.
In 2001, Random House acquired 50% of Golden Books Family Entertainment for $84.4 million, in partnership with Classic Media. In fact, Random House purchased the rights to Golden's book and publishing properties, including the Little Golden Books, which they continue to publish today.
Little Golden Books is currently a division of Random House Children's Books.
